| Review: When I first read a number of positive reviews in 2013, Oculus, I really wanted to check. I like the horror genre, but its true cynical bunch of spectators (not scary enough, not enough blood that has already been done), and the rating goes as never seen before, something I have with interest and skepticism. Oculus is a slow combustion. His slow and kept at this pace throughout the film. It is not conjuring, largely rapid rate ... It reminded me of a mix Last Exorcism of Emily Rose and possibly orphanage. If either you really want to know how scary movie it is or not. Either really dig the layers of how things work in the horror field, or try to poke holes in everything. (Ex: sure 30 m radius) Oculus is a genius concept (haunted mirror), but the scenario of a disjointed narrative history and flashbacks mixed in a coherent and perhaps complex history. Think of it as a moderated Inception. Its effective because ultimately feel a question of what is reality and not.This on mediocre, but perhaps not for the main stream. His great refreshing horror. |
