| Review: Quickie Review: After the huge success of Ted, director Seth MacFarlane back to do another comedy film, which also stars. His character, Albert, lived in the West, where everything and everyone died. He lost his love for Louise (Amanda Seyfried) to Foy (Neil Patrick Harris). With the help of gun-slinging Anna (Charlize Theron) in Duel Foy must fight to win your love back. A million ways to die in the West, is a satirical Western comedy mood unfortunately not deliver consistent quality. You'll laugh a few times for sure, but overall this is not Macfarlanes better job. Frankly I think this is a bad movie that was announced in the trailer with all the best jokes.Full Review: I like working Macfarlanes Family Guy, my dearest Ted. So that makes me very excited to see A Million Ways to Die in the West. However, in the second half that I realized that I was actually bored. It pains me to say this because I really like Seth Macfarlanes sense of humor, but this simply is not a good movie.This is the first time we see MacFarlane in the title role of the live action. We knew he was good with the voice work for the animated characters, but as a live action actor hes not on the same level of quality. He actually felt out of place, more like I was in a sketch program. In fact, the entire film feels like a series of sketches, each scene is set up just for a joke. He disappeared in making all these gags work without consistent flow with the story. This makes the movie is 2 hours long felt because they simply do not know where to go, and most importantly funny.This jokes arent even that brings me to the biggest disappointment of this movie, a joke. Yes, of course, there are some giggles here and there, but even the worst comedy has those. No point was I full of laughter. Later in the film, which was dependent on the trunk jokes, fart and poop. Sure, occasionally I can enjoy them as a joke, but if the event depends on it for a few laughs, then I'm turning my brain off because obviously the writer has too. You know they are running out of ideas when they use laxatives joke. Dear Hollywood, stop laxative joke, it was funny when I kid.Apart scene trailer, there is a cameo and barroom brawls enjoyed viewing. I think it will go with high expectations based on Ted's going to be very disappointed. There are definitely worse comedies out there this. However, given the participants and Chuck teams, A million ways to die in the West should be much better. |
